Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or HBOT, uses concentrated oxygen at increased pressures to allow the oxygen to diffuse into tissues. Increased oxygen may help tissues heal at a faster rate. Several conditions that may benefit from oxygen therapy include soft tissue wounds, skin grafts, bone infections, and acute spinal cord injuries.

Patients that are considered good candidates for oxygen therapy are placed in a chamber and monitored continuously during the process. Treatments range from 30 to 60 minutes and there are typically several sessions. The number of sessions recommended depends on the underlying injury or wound and the progress the patient shows with treatment.

This service is available at our Leesburg office in conjunction with The LifeCentre.
