VSCR Medical Director Dr. Julie Wentzel has been named Secretary of the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (NVVMA), based in Oak Hill, Virginia. According to the NVVMA website, the association began in 1975 as a non-profit organization to:
-Promote within the veterinary profession the highest degree of skill, integrity and service to the public.
-Enlighten the public concerning veterinary medicine and to disseminate information for the benefit of the public regarding appropriate care and treatment of animals.
-Improve and elevate the standards of veterinary medicine within the Commonwealth of Virginia
-Foster the cultivation of professional fellowship among veterinarians in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
